I watched as a schoolboy more than 35 years ago in a kolkhoz cinema in a summer camp. Impression for life. Sometimes there is a desire to reconsider, but I am afraid to break the established image. I remember that I was struck by the dramatic line and the cold ice sea against a terribly beautiful background, which all these events tearing soul and flesh were going to a tragic finale. Special effects also played a role, especially with an eye on time, age and unpampered genre Hollywood movies. I don’t remember the music at all, except that it was there (it turns out to be Morricone), although music has always been important to me in cinema. The second film in the same session was The Chiefs of Atlantis, and they were met with notable success by the audience. However, from a distance, it is clear that Death among icebergs is noticeably more valuable in terms of viewing experience. The music is just beautiful and I think the opening scene with the main musical theme and the majestic footage of nature hooked me right away. Separately, I want to note the voiceover. Borisov's voice acts magically.
